Blog #I chapter 4

In chapter 4 there is a Tech tool 4.1 that is used for Lesson Planning, Lesson planning is hard, there are classes at Universities dedicated to lesson planning and creating syllabuses, but in this Tech tool it provides you with multiple websites that are free that teachers and students can use. These are interactive websites that teachers can use for a class lesson. one website that seemed to have it all was Annenberg Learner (www.learner.org), this site provides interactive activities on social studies, science, mathematics, foreign language, literature, language arts, and history. These sections are also broken up into grades.

Tech tool 4.2 is all about Web Resource and Apps for Teaching. One site that caught my attention and seemed to be broad but well put together is the Teaching Channel, it is an online video resource for teachers to provide to students of all grade levels. Some of the video topics are student behavior, assessment strategies, and meeting the Common Core State Standards. This tech tool also provides information on cool applications that help students learn to read, write, do math, take quizzes, etc.

Tech tool 4.3 is a section about Web Resources and Apps for Student Assessment. Online there are websites that quiz students on different subjects. There are also apps that can help teachers grade students work, on their phones or computers or I pads. Grade Pad helps teachers assess a students academic work and calculates the score on a mobile device. I think that is neat because when I was in Elementary school teachers had to calculate your grade with a calculator!

  1. You are right that there are so many new tools to help make it easier for teachers to plan for their lessons and assessments in the classroom. This alone makes technology worthwhile for educators! :) I'm glad you found some of these resources helpful to you. Be sure to "Delicious" them. You do want to properly cite your resources using APA citation style - Bibme.org can help by looking at their website template and completing the necessary information.
